STARTS SATURDAY FEBRUARY 18TH

Take your 200HR Training to the next level!

This course is those who have completed one or even several 200 HR Yoga Teacher Training Courses, and want to learn a 500 HR Certificate. A 300 Hour course is a bridge course and is called advanced in that it goes beyond what can be covered in a 200 hour training. You certainly do not need to be an advanced practitioner to join.

The training is based upon the highly acclaimed work of BKS Iyengar, author of Light on Yoga, Light on Pranayama, Light on The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, and Light on Life. Iyengar Yoga is perhaps the most highly influential method of practicing yoga asana & pranayama in the world. It’s pioneering work in the field of Therapeutic Yoga is well known. Over 10 million people practice Iyengar Yoga with many yoga teachers incorporating its alignment principles, sequences, types of poses, and usages of props in their classes.

Richard Schachtel has over 100 recent graduates of his 200 HR Foundational Courses which are given in A Year Long Weekend Training, a Yearlong Weeknight Training, and several 4 Week Immersion Trainings held each year.

Richard has taught yoga for over 3 decades in Seattle and is The Founder & Director of The Center For Yoga of Seattle in Ravenna. He has made 22 Yoga Study Trips to India to personally train with BKS Iyengar, Geeta Iyengar and Prashant Iyengar in Yoga Asana, Pranayama, Medical Yoga Therapeutics, and Philosophy. His most recent trips were 2014, 2015, and 2016.

Richard has been training yoga teachers in Seattle since 1986 and is one of the most influential yoga teachers in the Northwestern United States. He has taught yoga workshops throughout the US since 1992 and has taught in Australia and India. He is planning to teach in China later this year.

What makes this training special is that it is based upon Iyengar Yoga considered the most Precise and Highly Develped Alignment Oriented Method of Yoga. Iyengar Yoga is know for its ability to make the practice of yoga accessible to a wide range of students through its innovative use of props, the high quality of training of its instructors, and its creative sequencing, among other qualities.

Whether your current interest is with Vinyasa Flow Yoga, Hot Yoga or Bikrim Yoga, Power Yoga, of Astanga Vinyasa Yoga what you will learn in this training will be highly useful to make your personal practice and classes better. The Alignment of each pose will be improved and you will learn more of the intricate Art of How to Do a Pose. Many of the leading teachers of the above mentioned methods of yoga have studied Iyengar Yoga, often for years!

You don’t have to have background in Iyengar Yoga, or to have taken a 200 HR Course from Richard to join this training. You do need openness to learn more and to a desire to broaden your experience, and a desire to improve in what your are currently doing.

You will be learning the intricacies of some of the most important poses that can give a lifetime of well being, clarity, and vitality.

You don’t need to be an advanced practitioner to be in the training. The course attempts to cover aspects of practice, methodology, theory and philosophy that it not possible to cover in a 200 hr foundational training.
