They are trained to make yoga accessible to all and the skillful use of common yoga props can help in this goal. Regardless of what training you have had or what type of yoga you may want to teach in the future, having training in Iyengar Yoga is invaluable to understanding the Art of How to Practice and How to Teach.

Richard Schachtel has been training yoga teachers in Seattle since 1986. He founded The Center For Yoga of Seattle in 1980. He was a close student of the late BKS Iyengar, and continues to train with his daughter Geeta Iyengar. Richard has traveled to India for training with The Iyengar Family 21 times, most recently in December 2015.

Richard Schachtel founded The Center For Yoga of Seattle in 1980 and continues today as its Director. He is a full-time yoga teacher who works with a variety of students, from rank beginner, to classes in slow/gentle yoga to advanced. He also works privately with those who are injured, are suffering from illness, or are recovering from accidents. Richard has taught throughout the US, and in Australia, and India.

The training is approved by Yoga Alliance and graduates will be able to register as RYT-200.

The experience of this training can give a foundation for a lifetime of enriching yoga practice and teaching!

The tuition for the training is $2,900. We are currently running a Special Promotion for as low as $999 for early sign-ups (see our website specials).
This Training is also offered as a 4 week immersion format in May/June, July, and September and as a 1 Year Course Meeting on Weekends Starting in April 2016 and also as a 1 Year Course on Tuesday Nights Starting Every Year.
