A chance to experience a sample yoga teacher training class in the tradition of BKS Iyengar taught by one of his closest northwest students. Teacher Training courses are commonplace in the Seattle area. These trainings are the only ones focusing on Iyengar Yoga. Know the Difference! Richard Schachtel is one of the most experienced yoga teacher trainers in the Northwestern United States.

The afternoon will include a time to ask questions about the trainings, about Iyengar Yoga, and to experience a sample yoga teacher training class in the Iyengar Tradition.

Iyengar Yoga is considered by many to be the Gold Standard of yoga Systems. It is named after BKS Iyengar, author of many books including, Light on Yoga, Light on Pranayama, Light on The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, and Light on Life.

Iyengar Yoga is know for it’s immaculate attention to detail and alignment, it’s methodical and systematic approach to learning and development of awareness.

Iyengar Yoga teachers are trained to develop skills to reach a wide range of students, including those with common physical problems.

It is a dynamic and thorough approach to yoga.

In 2004 Time Magazine listed BKS Iyengar as one of the 100 most influential persons on the planet.
Richard Schachtel is the Seattle area’s only authorized Iyengar Yoga Teacher Trainer and has studied regularly with the Iyengar Yoga family in India for over 30 years. He is the Founder and Director of The Center For Yoga of Seattle. Richard has been training yoga teachers for 28 years. He has taught workshops around the US, Australia, and has given a teacher training course in Goa, India.
