Samarya Community Retreat at Texas Yoga Retreat with Molly & EB Ferdig
October 19| $600
Join Molly Lannon Kenny and EB Ferdig in this very special offering. We are excited to be combining three unique experiences into one incredible weekend of connection, learning, practice, devotion and rest and rejuvenation.
For several years now, Molly has been attending and presenting at the Texas Yoga Retreat. This has become one of her favorite conferences of the year and she has been inviting students and friends to join her in experiencing the sweetness, the depth, and the spiritual connection offered by this weekend retreat at the stunningly beautiful Radha Madhav Dham ashram just outside of Austin, Texas, about a 35 minute drive from the Austin Airport.
This year, since unfold studios co-founder EB Ferdig will also be presenting, we decided to put together this special pre-conference retreat for our Seattle/Portland, Samarya/unfold community (of course anyone is welcome!). Retreat participants can then join into the larger Texas Yoga Retreat at a discounted cost while continuing to build community.
Our intention for this retreat is threefold:
- To create connection with the Samarya and unfold communities, spending time in reflection and practice, sharing our values and vision as members of our radically inclusive satsang.
- To invite our students and community to experience the stillness and devotion offered by the ashram. This is an opportunity for you to wander the grounds of one of the largest Hindu temples in the US, commune with the peacocks who decorate the lawns and trees with their splendor, to sit quietly in front of one of the many Hindu statues that are artfully placed around the campus, and to join in evening kirtan and fellowship. We hope to ignite in you your own experience of bhakti, the cornerstone of our shared teaching and practice.
- To introduce and accompany you to the Texas Yoga Retreat conference and community. This is an opportunity to learn and share with experienced, heartful teachers from all over the country, to make new yoga friends, and to expand your own experience, knowledge and practice.
Students will learn not only from Molly and EB, in workshops including the Tao of Dharma, Basic Sanskrit Pronunciation, Yoga and Anxiety, an Introduction to Integrated Movement Therapy and How to Authentically Talk about Yoga Philosophy in class, you will also have the opportunity to learn from all of the other teachers on the retreat teaching from a variety of perspectives and lineages. This is a great opportunity to build community, rejuvenate yourself and your teaching or practice, and to learn from master teachers who you may otherwise not be exposed to. Costs vary depending on room selection.

About the Teacher: Molly Lannon Kenny
Molly Lannon Kenny has been on the path to fulfilling her dharma since her earliest memories. As a child, her parents would frequently take her and her brothers and sisters to the bookstore and let them wander for hours, lost in the magic of words and pictures. Molly often found herself sitting cross legged, flipping through BKS Iyengar’s Light on Yoga, intrigued and entranced by the photos and the mystery behind them. As a child, she was both physical and flexible, and often heard “you should do yoga!” from the adults around her, although it had very little meaning to her, but in fact, was most likely what sent her to the Yoga section of the bookstore in the seventies, long before Yoga was so widely accepted and practiced in the United States.
Life brought her many opportunities to share her fire and to realize her dream, but it was only when she discovered Yoga as a practice, rather than an odd set of circus tricks, did her specific path become clear to her. Molly has been teaching Yoga to all levels of practitioners for over ten years, and has worked tirelessly to create outreach programs to people who would otherwise not have the opportunity to experience joy and contentment through the timeless teachings of Yoga.
In 2001, she founded The Samarya Center for Humankind (ness), a 501 c 3 non-profit organization dedicated to individual transformation and radical social change. She created, published and trademarked a unique therapy method, Integrated Movement Therapy, built on these same principles of acceptance and inclusion. She has written and taught extensively on the topics of Yoga as Therapy and Yoga as a means to individual and social change, and is widely known as a vibrant, funny, accessible teacher, with a heart of gold and a spirit of fire.
