What are the yoga sutras?

The Yoga Sutras is perhaps the one of the most vital yoga text for any serious yoga practitioner or teacher. This ancient yoga book is a compilation of 196 yoga sutras, or aphorisms, codified by Patanjali containing the eternal wisdom about the practice of yoga. This text gives us the philosophy behind all of yoga. And even though the yoga sutras is over 5000 years old. The content of this book is as relevant today as it was thousands of years ago.
