Journey into stillness through the practice of Yin Yoga. Join us as we explore the lunar side of yoga for a guided meditative sequence of long stretches and holds with relaxed muscles to focus on opening and strengthening connective tissues. This class is appropriate for all bodies and all levels. Yin yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga with asanas (poses), that are held for longer periods of timeβ€”five minutes or more per pose is typical. Yin is a great pairing with a more yang style like Bikram or Vinyasa because Yin offers a much deeper access to the body. This is an ideal practice by itself or following a Bikram or Vinyasa class.

About Rachael Savage:

Inspired by the student teacher relationship between Luke and Yoda in the film Star Wars, Rachael’s spiritual quest began at the age of 8. After over 20 years of studying at the feet of many masters and practicing various traditions of meditation and yoga, her mentors encouraged her to teach. Rooted in the philosophy of yoga, Rachael’s intention is to guide and encourage others through the process of personal growth and empowerment that unfolds through the practice of yoga by creating supportive and welcoming classes that are both challenging and inspiring to body, mind, and spirit. With respect for all traditions Rachael currently teaches Vinyasa, Yin Yoga and Hot Yoga as well as meditation and yoga philosophy. Rachael is still questing for knowledge and is often found with her nose in a book, off to a yoga workshop or meditation retreat.

Now is the time to begin. As the great yogi Krishnamacharya encourages, “Start where you are.”
