On December 5, 2015, Seattle Yoga News hosted the second edition of the Seattle Yoga Holiday Party at Om Culture. The event attracted a diverse group of people that included yoga teachers, yoga studio owners and many yoga practitioners from many different communities across the Greater Seattle area. The event included food and drinks, music from a live band and DJ Drishti, dancing and plenty of opportunities to meet old friends and make new ones.

The highlight of the evening was the Seattle Yoga Awards where four different awards were given recognizing the great work of local organizations and individuals within the local yoga community. Danielle Gaudette was awarded the Seattle yoga teacher of the year 2015. Root 2 Rise Yoga in Woodinville was awarded the yoga studio of the year award. Yoga Behind Bars was recognized as the yoga organization of the year 2015. Finally, Robyn Long was awarded the yoga article of the year for her article “The social spirit of healing: lessons from teaching yoga in the Middle East.”
