The first yoga flash mob for for peace and unity was held last Saturday, August 27th at 1:08 PM in Greenlake, Seattle WA. The intention of the event was to utilize yoga as a way to bring attention and intention towards global peace and unity.

We know as yogis that peace begins with each of us as individuals, but in coming together with a united purpose, we feel connected and part of a powerful positive movement. The yoga flash mob was an incredible fusion of community and individuality set to a backdrop of rhythmic drums. People of all different cultures, ages and genders held hands and set intentions together, before flowing through self-led Sun Salutations and free movement.

Created with the intention to connect our community, the Yoga Flash Mob was the first event for the blossoming group, the Yoga Peace Tribe 108 Team, created by members
Jessica Duty, Elisia Young and Dawn Torres. Intentions were set as participants joined hands and opened space together. After some shared pranayama breathing, the beating of the drums began and movement followed. Loose sun salutations and free-form flow graced the yoga circle as the community members found their own unique rhythm. After the sun salutations, the group ended with meditation and hula hooping.

A special thanks to our drummers and participants for making this event beautiful and special. The team looks forward to sharing peaceful space with Seattle yogis again soon.

The team would love to connect with everyone on the Yoga Peace Tribe 108 Facebook page to continue this intention and movement of peace.
