The currently practiced medical discipline is a molecular or matter field model. If there is too much or too little of a molecule then disease occurs. The energy science model of Ayurveda states that disease occurs due to imbalances of qualities or vibrational frequencies: too much hot or cold. In the molecular model, the reliance of a label is necessary in order to solve the disease which is not necessary in the energy model. Lastly, health is determined by the doctor in the matter field model whereas health becomes the personal responsibility of the patient in the energy science model. In this video, Dr. Bill Dean helps explain how the Ayurveda approach to medicine is different from western medicine.
