I was visiting Bremerton to attend a conference and knew that after sitting in meeting rooms for two days I would be in need of some serious physical and mental healing. I found that at Indigo Moon Yoga. I walked there from my hotel near the Kitsap Ferry Terminal. It’s a small town; it takes very little time and effort to get anywhere, and Indigo Moon Yoga was super easy to find and accessible. Kathleen greeted me with a smile, asked some friendly questions that would help her get to know me and my practice, and made sure I had everything I needed for a great session (a level 2/3 Vinyasa class). I had no trouble following her as she led us through asanas and I left the class feeling really refreshed. It’s a beautiful studio that is thoughtfully organized and well cared for. There’s good space to stash your bag, a well-appointed bathroom, shelves of clean, new props (not the ratty, hairy, sticky or otherwise beat-to-hell props I’ve run into at other studios), and Kathleen has added lots of great extra touches like tea after class, or a bite of Godiva chocolate to take out the door. It was clear to me that the guiding principles of compassion, connectivity and community aren’t just words that sound good on a website. I think Indigo Moon Yoga walks the walk, y’all. You should go there. Work on your practice and support a local business, Bremertonians. I want to be able to re-visit Indigo Moon Yoga the next time I’m in town.

Beautiful space and great teachers. The classes are truly all levels and kept between 85-90 degrees to avoid over-stretching and injury. Challenging for sure and you’ll still sweat, yet it’s mindful and breath-based. The focus is on the sensations of the body and breath and not a perfect posture. Excited that Issaquah can now benefit from these teachers and methodology 🙂

Me and my wife like this place a lot. Location is convenient and parking has never been a problem. The crowd is good, sincere and most people are friendly. Studio is clean and well managed, staff has always been friendly.
Finally, how good a studio is determined by its visiting teachers. We have loved attending classes of almost all the teachers here and everyone has their unique style, but a special mention for Gianna Carotenuto. She is really the best yoga teacher we have trained under. She is very wise with her advice and the many years of practice and teaching experience she has shows. Also she is very grounded and learning under her is a pleasure. Cheers!

I LOVE YogaBliss. The studio itself is beautiful and Maria has done an extraordinary job at creating a yoga studio full of peace, kindness, positive energy, and incredible instructors. The variety of classes is remarkable. I generally go to a bootcamp with Meghan, barre with Casey, and as many hot yoga classes with Cherie as possible each week. The meditation classes are also fantastic. Every day I go to YogaBliss I leave with a smile on my face and think about how grateful I am for such an exceptional resource in the Mercer Island community.

She provides each and every student personal attention, instruction & encouragement to enable each student to progress and challenge themselves further, yet within their body’s ability. Her genuine love & appreciation for yoga shines through everything she does. Because of her, I look forward to making yoga practice a mainstay for the rest of my life.

I have been looking for the right yoga teacher for years until I met Arundhati. She is one of the best teachers and I love her classes so much that I even ended up doing a teacher training program as well with her.
It is rare to find a class that focuses on not just physical practice and fitness but overall well being. You must try a class to know what I am talking about, and you will not be disappointed!

I love the Iyengar Method for practicing yoga Asana. Richard the Director has 40 years experience teaching and is a wealth of knowledge. His Teacher Training Courses are a great way to immerse yourself in this rich style that focuses on precision and alignment and the teachers at the school are dedicated to teaching the Iyengar method. The studio itself is simple- no mirrors, no “hot” rooms, no fancy decor, it has hardwood floors and huge skylights. It has all the props you would expect of a studio of this style. Beyond blocks and blankets- there are back benders, rope walls and a tressler. The class schedule has something for everyone, from slow yoga to advanced practices, workshops too.

I’ve been practicing yoga for a few years now. Having moved from India, I was looking for authentic traditional yoga under a highly skillful teacher. I had almost given up as I stay away from hot, warm or even power. I was delighted to find this place. Yes, its not the best looking studio in town, but if you are looking to learn under a great set of teachers who have truly mastered the subject then you are at the right place.
My practice has improved since I started here last September. My advanced poses like headstand and handstand have gotten more awesome because of the small details that Richard makes you focus on. To practice Iyengar style, you need patience and dedication – not a mirror and music.
I have even started their teacher training and attend classes taught by people other than Richard. I have only good things to say so far. This is the place to start your yoga foundation. Its my favorite yoga place in Seattle. 🙂

I first found Wendy’s class because it met my childcare schedule. That was 8 or 9 years ago, and I’ve been a fan ever since. Wendy combines deep anatomical knowledge with a sense of humor and love for her students. Add decades of yoga practice, and you have my favorite yoga teacher.

This is a nice little yoga studio. All the teachers that I had were great and helpful. They did not do by themselves like other places, but always gave attention to the students so that we could follow them. The atmosphere is very cozy and friendly. I wanna go back! 😀

This yoga studio offers high quality yoga instruction in the Anusara tradition in a lovely intimate setting. The small class size allows teachers more time to give individual attention. You learn alignment and WHY you do things the way you do so you’re not just following along “simon sez” style. And I love the spiritual component. It’s not hokey or creepy or overpowering. Just a few oms and a chant. I go away feeling taller and refreshed for the day. Street parking isn’t bad.

I was devastated when my beloved “yoga home”, Sutra in Wallingford, closed its doors a few years ago. Began my search and upon a friend’s recommendation took a couple of classes at SYA. Well…..the rest as they say is history. Beautiful space, warm and welcoming staff and teachers who really know their stuff, innovative and supportive styles of classes for all levels/moods, and a lovely and diverse community.

“
This yoga studio is exactly the type that I love. I’m so glad it exists. The teachers all have a depth of understanding of the philosophy and practice of yoga. There’s a certain maturity and authenticity that shines through. It’s not hot or go, go, go like a lot of fad/newer yoga studios. Safety of the body, alignment, current best practice in terms of physiology and science of stretching is combined with thoughtful themes in yoga philosophy. Down-to-earth vibes, beautiful high ceiling studio that isn’t too packed, though it is busy at times. Just enough to feel the support of a room full of people settling their nervous systems together. I’d recommend this studio to beginners through experienced people.

A yoga place for the rest of us. I’m so tired of yoga studios ran by 20 somethings who really don’t adjust or make yoga approachable for all. I found Guru Gayatri and Kundalini Yoga about 10 months ago and it has changed my life. The entire staff are all so welcoming to those who are new to Kundalini Yoga, teaching the lessons of Yogi Bhanjan and the technology/benefits of Kundalini Yoga. Every class will be filled with community, laughter, meditation/mantras, the Gongs and a different kriya (set of movements). Sada Simran studied with Yogi Bhanjan (who brought Kundalini Yoga to the West) for 37 years so we get to hear personal stories and hear from a true expert.

This is an excellent studio for hot yoga. This studio offers several styles of yoga with classes at many times during the day and evening. The classes are usually challenging in terms of effort but appropriate for all levels, and the instructors are almost always extremely good.

I have only been to Shefayoga twice but I really enjoyed it. I am new to Yoga (unless you count group fitness type yoga at a health club) so I don’t have much to compare it to. In the short time that I have been coming to this studio they have won over my heart. Aside from having classes everyday, most classes are also suitable for beginners. All of the instructors have their own flair and personality. Julia has a very warm and kind energy. Tracey is very encouraging and loving. Jennifer adds fun to the practice. Even if you come to the studio regularly you will still have a chance to practice with a different instructor. The studio provides mats, blankets, blocks and pillows. Before class they always ask for special requests. People have asked for meditation, balance, core or to remain conscious of certain parts of the body due to injury. I have had to adjust some of my moves since I am still very new and working on flexibility. The instructors are always happy to accommodate all levels of students. They help make everyone feel welcome and supported. The only downside is that occasionally you can hear traffic outside or the business above but I just use that as an opportunity to return to my breath. Excellent studio and exceptionally great for beginners.

What a great yoga studio! Parking is super easy, it’s easy to find, real nice yoga studio, with a welcoming entrance area that makes you feel like you’re in someone’s living room.
They have classes for free on Wed (not sure if this is only for 1st time students like myself or for anyone who comes on a Wed). I tried the Hatha yoga, which was great. The instructor’s name I think was Suzette and she was a great instructor who gave good feedback, and super sweet and welcoming! I felt soooo relaxed in this yoga class, it was almost like doing meditation. We did some amazing stretches (she asked what we wanted to focus on & we all said stretching).
I’m quite impressed with this yoga studio!

My Wednesday’s are now transformed into my favorite day of the week, thanks to Aubrey and Hauteyoga!
I have been in the midst of a move to Seattle from Boston for a few months now, regularly visiting my fiancé who has been here since August every month. Almost every trip included a yin class on Wednesday’s at Hauteyoga.
I love Aubrey’s patience and gentle, opening and calming class. I am always happily sore afterwards because of all the opening and twisting my body so desperately needs.
I only wish there was more yin offered here! I have never tried heated yoga and I’m not sure I would like it. I may have to try it!
