200-hour-teacher-training

At Seattle Yoga Arts we believe that being a yoga teacher is an honor, a privilege and a never-ending path of growth and service. We have seen, over and over, that yoga changes lives, and know that being part of that evolution is sacred. Since we began our Teacher Training program in 2003, we’ve had the privilege of training some of the most beloved teachers in Seattle and beyond. Over the years we’ve learned to weed out what isn’t valuable and focus on the concepts that truly enhance your experience.

Our core faculty was trained in Anusara – an alignment-based, heart-infused style of yoga. While deeply rooted in this method, we also honor and source the best from the fields of physical therapy, kinesiology, therapeutics, etc. We have a commitment to including the stream of Tantric teaching in our philosophy, while also continually revisiting the root texts of the yoga tradition.

Teacher training at Seattle Yoga Arts delivers:

  • A dedicated staff of passionate, innovative, experienced and supportive teachers
  • An in-depth study of anatomy and alignment principles necessary to practice and teach asana in a safe and sustainable way
  • An accessible and enlightening exploration of yogic history and philosophies
  • A deeper understanding of the benefits of meditation and the encouragement and support to establish a meditation practice in your life
  • The courage, the tools, the confidence and the appreciation of what it takes to hold the seat of the teacher
