Thank you for inquiring about Ki McGraw and Bob Smith’s 200 hour Seattle Yoga Teacher Training Program. The next Seattle Yoga Teacher Training is scheduled to start in October of 2019 and applicants are now being accepted into the program.

Ki McGraw and Bob Smith have successfully led over 30 YTT training groups over the past 20 years and look forward to leading another one.  Ki and Bob are accomplished Hatha Yoga practitioners and meditators with a combined teaching experience of more than 65 years and they have put together a powerful set of two day weekend trainings. All workshops will take place at the Hatha Yoga Center in Seattle.

In these weekend training sessions you will receive asana, pranayama, and meditation instruction; as well as Yoga philosophy, anatomy as it applies to asana practice, and many other pertinent aspects of teaching Yoga. During the program you will learn to teach Yoga safely and wisely, with many opportunities for student teaching. Ki and Bob’s Yoga teacher training program is registered by the Yoga Alliance.

The instructional cost for the entire 200 hour training is $2,400. Payment is to be made on a monthly basis of $140 per two day weekend workshop that you attend. The weekend trainings will be on break July – September of 2019, however they will resume in October of 2019. There will also be individual tutoring that you do with Bob and Ki by attending certain classes at the Hatha Yoga Center and you will be able to choose these classes during the course of your study in this program.  Graduation happens as enough hours are accumulated.  This can be done in nine months, however, it generally takes students approximately 1 1/2 years to graduate.

There will be 20 hours of Yoga Anatomy offered in the spring of 2020.  Asana practice and learning how to teach asana will always be an important part of each weekend – some of the afternoon subject matters for these weekends will include: pranayama, meditation, lineage, the Yoga Sutras, the Upanishads, mantra and yantra,  living the life of a Western Yogi – Yogini; ethics, anatomy as it applies to asana practice, how to work with injuries, and specific practices of teaching.

Ki and Bob have only one main requirement before you can enter their training program – this being that you have practiced Hatha Yoga for at least two years before you can be admitted.into the program.

Dates: Oct. 5th, 2019 – Dec. 5th, 2019.
Cost: $2,400

Bob Smith has been deeply immersed in Yoga for 45+ years. He is the author of YOGA FOR A NEW AGE (Prentice-Hall, 1982 and Smith Productions, 1986) and has been teaching Yoga for 40 years as the head of the Hatha Yoga Center.  Bob has run a private Yoga studio in the Seattle area since 1977, has conducted workshops throughout various parts of the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Indonesia for more than 35 years.  He has developed a uniquely eclectic style of teaching that combines classical Hatha Yoga asana with the movement of the Divine Shakti.  In addition to a strong Hatha Yoga practice, Bob has deeply explored meditation for the past 45+ years (particularly with Pir Vilayat Khan, and with Sraddhalu Ranade of the Sri Aurobindo Ashram). He is a good pranayama and meditation teacher because he has practiced a lot.  Bob’s life as an asana, pranayama and meditation instructor has been turned over to Sri Aurobindo and The Mother.
