The training is for those wanting to teach yoga, for those wanting to learn more to develop a personal yoga practice, for those currently teaching who wish to develop their skills in learning the highly acclaimed Iyengar Method of Practice and Teaching.

Richard Schachtel is Seattle’s most experienced yoga teacher trainer. He has taught Teacher Training Courses for those wanting to be trained to teach yoga since 1986.

He has trained yoga teachers not only in Washington State but teachers from around the US, Canada, Europe, and Asia in his immersion yoga teacher trainings help several times each year.

Richard is the founder of The Center For Yoga of Seattle (1980) and continues to serve as its Director.

He has trained 23 times in India with BKS Iyengar, author of Light on Yoga and numerous books, and with Geeta Iyengar, author of Yoga: a Gem For Women, most recently in December 2017.

Richard has taught yoga in Seattle since 1975 and has given workshops in Iyengar Yoga throughout the US and has taught Yoga in China, Australia, and India.

The Training is a Great Mix of Practice: learning the theory and practice of Iyengar Yoga with Yoga Philosophy, Anatomy for Yoga, Teaching Methodology, Practice Teaching and More.

We expect the training to fill with participants from Olympia, Tacoma, Seattle, Bellevue, Redmond, Bellingham, and the northern and eastern Seattle suburbs.

The Training meets mostly on Saturdays 1-7pm with a few Sundays also 1-7pm.

Fees

The Fee for the Training is $3,600. We are running a Special on This Course for those who Sign Up and Pay in Full by Midnight Sunday Pacific Standard Time APRIL 19, 2020, of $999! This Option includes 4 free make-ups during the training at appropriate Select Evening Daytime of Weekend Teacher Training Courses during this training and for a period of 1-year after the course ends.

We also have an Unlimited Make-up Option on special for $1,199 that has options for unlimited make-ups during the training and for a period of one year after the training ends at appropriate Evening, Daytime, and Weekend Teacher Training Classes. The Unlimited Option is on special only through This Sunday Night at Midnight. For those who choose the 4-make-up package for $999, an additional 5-6 hour make-up classes are $30 each or $20 for making up at a 2-4 hour class.

Dates of The Training

The course meets for 180 hours in Seattle. There is a minimum of 20 hours of homework.

Please register early. The Training is limited to only 25 students and we often have attendees coming from Olympia, Tacoma, Everett, Bellevue, the San Juan Islands and Seattle.

About the instructor: Richard Schachtel

Richard Schachtel has been training in Iyengar Yoga for over 40 years. He founded The Center For Yoga in 1980 and is a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher and an authorized Iyengar Yoga Teacher Trainer. He has made 22 yoga study trips to India to personally train with the Iyengar Family most recently in December 2016. Richard is the Seattle Area’s most Senior Iyengar Yoga Teacher. Richard has been training teachers in Seattle since 1986 and has influenced several generations of yoga teachers. There are over 100 recent graduates of this program which is offered also on the weekends and in 4-week immersions. Richard has taught yoga workshops throughout the USA, at several Iyenger Yoga National Convent Conventions, in Australia and India, and taught this spring in China.
