These workshops are based on LeLa’s years experience of teaching and practicing the philosophy of Tantra yoga, Meditation, Body Awareness Work, Movement Therapy, Compassionate Communication and Holistic Life Coaching.

2017 Mind Over What Matters workshops are a combination of these practices with an overall theme of harnessing inner strength while we find our breath and float through life with our soft edges. They are about renewal and rebuilding, while removing mind clutter (chitta), so that we can move through life with confidence and faith in our actions.  Its about acknowledging our passions and dusting off our dreams and having the power to bring them to fruition.

We will be asking ourselves some very personal questions – so get ready to dive deep- you will answer and track your progress in your personal journal. There will be no reason to share with the group (if additional life coaching is requested I am offering 20% off one-on-one packages apart from this workshop-learn more information about those sessions at www.PassionatePathCoaching.com).

There is no sensual touch. No sharing of personal journals, no partner needed and no previous yoga experience required.

  1. Wednesday Jan 11th 6:30-8:30pm: Identifying your life’s path

“Its your road, and yours alone, others may walk it with you but no one can walk it for you.” – Rumi

This is a fundamental workshop to give a clear path to the other workshops that will be held in this series.  It is important to know in which direction you are headed.

In ‘Identifying your life’s path workshop’ we will start with some light stretching, then sit down with our journals first to uncover a base line of our current reality and then, through journaling answers to personal questions and future intensions and with meditation we will start to reveal the life that would make us our happiest. We then will use energetic light meditation and breath to identify the blockages that are keeping us from living that life.

I will make Vegan Chai and Ladus (Vegan Indian Sweets) for us all to enjoy.

Self work is hard but extremely rewarding. I look forward to working with you Jan 11th

2. Wednesday Feb 1st 6:30-8:30pm: Live life with an open heart

“Your heart knows the way. Run in that direction” – Rumi

The root of Tantra is knowing and living from your true sense of self. Discovering that, is the path, and living from that, is the practice.  Once we can drop the conscious mind. Let go of the “I can’t” and the “I shouldn’t” and the mind chatter (chitta) we can start to live from our truth. Once we find that sense life can be so beautiful.

In ‘Live life with an open heart workshop’ we will do a gentle but strong practice focusing on heart opening asanas. We will then have time for journaling and meditation on our 2017 intensions and how we will continue to honor living with an open heart.

I will make flavorful rice and dahl and heart chakra chai (tea).

What does living with your heart open mean to you? Lets discover it Feb 1st.

3. Wednesday March 1st 6:30-8:30pm: Namaste: I honor the Divine within you

“I looked in temples, churches, and mosques. But I found the Divine within my heart.” – Rumi

Learning to let go is a very important step in moving effortlessly through life and living a life that truly makes you happy. Tantra teaches us to let go so that we can go further in our practice. Tantra Vedic sessions are much like Thai Walking Massage where by putting pressure on pranic channels (Chinese meridians) we can release blocked energy. In this workshop we will learn how to give and receive Vedic Channel Sessions.

These “massages” are performed fully clothed, without oils or massage lotion. There is no sensual touch. I will be handed out instructional worksheets so you will be able to perform this at home. Its an excellent way to enhance your practice, release blocked energy and it simply feels great.

I will bring healing soup.

What can you let go of to be able to move further into your life? Lets find out March 1st.

4. Wednesday April 5th 6:30-8:30pm: Soften to find strength: Meditate into arm balances and backbends

“The stronger you are, the softer you will become.”- Rumi

Do you ever hear that little voice in you head that tells you that you cant do something? I used to hear it all the time when I would try to do backbend. It would not so politely whisper, “You cant do this. Your wrist hurt too much, your too old, you are too overweight, your shoulders are too tight.” Over and over again I would hear this mind chatter until one day I didn’t. It was that day that I was able to stick my handstand, and I felt strong, and flow up into back bend, and I felt flexible. Most of all I felt free. Free from constructions that I built up in my mind that kept me from doing the things that I wanted to do.

In this workshop we will work with that little voice in your head, look at ways to not listen to it anymore and take a full look into achieving arm balances, backbends and inversions.

I will make some sort of yummy snack and chai.

“Its not what you are that is holding you back, its what you think you are not.”-Anonymous

What is holding you back? Lets find out April 5th.

5. Wednesday May 3rd 6:30-8:30pm: Release Anxiety and Find Your Voice: Chanting and Pranayama

“Communication is the first thing we learn as a child, but as we grow older it becomes the hardest thing we do.”

To succeed in life, we must learn to communicate what we need and want, unfortunately anxiety, fear, poor memory and more can prevent us from speaking up. In December 6th, 2016 a study was published in Neuroscience News stating that the way we breathe effects our memory. Also activating our glandular and pranic systems help to relieve anxiety and improve hormonal imbalances. Chanting is used to exercise the vocal cords, open up the 5th chakra (the communication chakra) and meditate.

{There will be no June class-as I will be studying out of town-to make up for this missed class I will be holding 2 classes in July}

6. Wednesday July 5th 6:30-8:30pm: Be Here Now: Find and trust your body

“ Our spiritual transformation brings us to the point where we realize that in our own being, we are enough.” – Ram Dass

We must first trust ourselves before anything else. In this workshop we will explore emotions around silence. We will be doing the tri-doshic Tantra sequence and meditating with the option of blind folds. Although in this sequence it is recommend to be done with eyes closed, it is a completely different experience to be completely without sight. Blind folding yourself allows us to trust your body and your actions. It’s a liberating and intense practice held in a warm safe space.

*It is not required to blind fold, if you do not want to use a blind fold, please still join us for the sequence and a journal exercise on facing fears.

7. Wednesday July 19th 6:30-8:30pm: Microcosm with the Macrocosm: Ayurveda ritual of living in balance

“Om. That is whole. This is whole, from the wholeness, comes the wholeness. If the whole is removed from the whole, only wholeness remains. Om. Peace. Peace. Peace.” – Purna Mantra

Rituals are beneficial is so many ways and they are a big part of Ayurveda. When the central nervous system knows what is next then the entire body can relax. In this workshop we will be exploring a basic overview of Ayurveda, Chanting, Pranayama, Nasia oil, Abyanga (oil massage), setting up an alter, setting intensions on candle meditations.

Once we bring our bodies into balance with the world around us, we can sense peace and harmony.

*Note: Please wear old clothes and bring a towel that you do not mind getting oily
