Yoga for our Current Times
at Breitenbush Hot Springs with Chiara Guerrieri and Anne Phyfe Palmer
Registration through Breitenbush Hot Springs now open!
Right now, there is a deep, palpable fatigue in our world. Planetary and political climate changes have left many of us anxious, fearful, and depleted.
Many of us need more than rest: we need to fully recharge our bodies and reset our nervous systems. When we are refreshed, we are more in touch with our selves and more able to take actions within our dharma, our purpose in this life.
A residential retreat is a time to slow down, immerse, and reflect. It’s a time to lean into a core tenet of yoga, that knowing oneself deeply is the key to reducing suffering.
Take this opportunity to temporarily unplug from the onslaught of external stimuli and your responsibilities as a human. Allow yourself to be restored. Replace demanding devices with time-tested practices: asana (posture), pranayama (breath work), meditation, and yoga nidra (guided deep relaxation).
The world is always changing. Join Chiara and Anne Phyfe in the supportive atmosphere of Breitenbush Hot Springs and let yoga support you through all of the transitions, from the mundane to the extraordinary.
The physical practice will be appropriate for all levels and most bodies (please email us if you have any questions).
This retreat begins with Dinner on Friday, April 3, starting at 6pm. Check-in is at 4pm, you may arrive at 3pm. The last meal served is lunch, at 1pm on Tuesday, April 7; you may stay on the Breitenbush property until 3pm.

About the instructors: Chiara Guerrieri & Anne Phyfe Palmer
What to expect in Chiara’s Classes: Chiara teaches us how to connect with the body through the breath, how to track physical sensation moment to moment and how to find an internal sense that guides movement and choices for wellbeing. In both her SoulMat & Hatha yoga classes, expect to go slowly, to pay attention to your body and breath, and to explore alignment. An important aspect of Chiara’s teaching is to help students learn when – and from where – to stabilize or mobilize. Expect the wisdom of a 30-year teaching career, plus a good dose of humor, to infuse each class.
Main Influences/Styles/Traditions: SoulMat with Patrizia Gavoni, Hatha Yoga with Bob Smith, Forrest Yoga with Ana Forrest, Shari Fredrickson, ParaYoga with Rod Stryker, and dance from around the world.
What to expect in Anne Phyfe’s classes: Anne Phyfe’s focus in teaching is to find both energy and calm through these ancient practices. Her classes are both strong and reflective, and usually involve a theme or intention in practice. Anne Phyfe has just returned to teaching drop-in classes after a sabbatical. View her teaching schedule at www.annephyfe.com/yoga. Listen to her audio class Awaken Fierce Compassion recorded by Yoga International.
Main Influences/Styles/Traditions: Anne Phyfe currently studies in the Tantric tradition of The Himalayan Institute. Her teachers are Rod Stryker and Shari Friedrichsen. She has also been heavily influenced by the following teachers: Gary Kraftsow, Sarah Powers, Tias Little, Ana Forrest, and her very first yoga teacher, Kathleen Hunt.
