Ashtanga In-Depth: Intermediate and Advanced Series
Ashtanga In-Depth is a journey into the depth of Ashtanga that includes a detailed breakdown of the poses and alignment, fundamentals of locks (bandhas), pranayama (breathing techniques).
NOTE! Please do not be driven away by the words “Intermediate” or “Advanced”. You do not need to have an advanced practice level to join the workshop. You need 6+ months of Yoga experience to be familiar with basic alignment rules. Actually, it’s the opposite: you want to join it to learn drills and information that will help you to elevate your practice to more advanced level.
This weekend is right for you if:
You have 6+ months of Yoga experience or you are in an athletic training form and want to learn more about the alignment of Yoga poses while you have the certain core strength
You always wanted to learn a bit more about Ashtanga
You wanted a guided introduction to Intermediate and Advanced Series
You want to learn how to elevate your beginner or Level 1 practice to Intermediate or Advanced levels
You hear words “bandhas” and “pranayama” but actually were never taught what is this and how to practice them internally
You are looking for highly effective drills to build your core as a step towards arm balances, inversions, and jump through transitions
You have unanswered questions about the poses/vinyasas and are looking for a trusted resource to dive deeper into the details
You are working up to one of the gatekeeper postures of Intermediate or Advanced Series and seeking expert guidance and teaching to help you breakthrough.
Or maybe you are considering a Yoga Teacher Training and want to have a short journey with a teacher prior to signing up for a training?

About the instructors: Lara Ederer
Lara was introduced to yoga in 2002 by a newly certified friend who needed practice students. Over the next several years she ventured in and out of the practice as well as different styles until she found her “home” in Vinyasa and Ashtanga traditions. In 2012 she completed her 200 Hour with Be Luminous with a primary focus in Power Vinyasa. Her teaching style is playful and sprinkled with humor yet it is evident that she is influenced by deep rooted traditions such as chanting, Pranayama, and Sanskrit. Her greatest influences are Tiffany Cruickshank, Amy Ippoliti, Sri Dharma Mittra, and Troy Lucero. Lara is also a co-founder of Yogalab Northwest, a grass roots collaboration that hosts world class teachers in the Seattle area as a way to celebrate the strong local yoga community. She has had the privilege of hosting and learning from Mittra, Ippoliti, Cruickshank, Kino Macgregor, Jason Crandell, and has several more scheduled events on the horizon. Lara is currently enrolled in her 500 hour training with Tiffany Cruickshank; when she’s off the mat she enjoys time with her husband Mark and son Liam.
