Join us for 15-months of deep study in asana, pranayama, meditation, anatomy, philosophy, Sanskrit, and Ayurveda. This course is designed for those who have completed a 200-hr YTT and wish to go further in their studies. We will emphasize building your teaching skills and delve into postures, modifications, and assists for Alignment-based Yoga, Vinyasa, Yin, and Restorative yoga.

Our curriculum will include philosophy topics from the Yoga Sutras, the Upanishads, and the Bhagavad Gita. Physical, as well as subtle body anatomy and energetics will be covered. Gain insights to your strengths as a teacher and be supported in expanding your teaching skills.

This program is 15 weekends from Sept 2020 to Nov 2021. Weekends are held in Kennewick and Leavenworth (some travel required), with one three night retreat in Roslyn (retreat costs included in tuition). Full schedule and pricing info is available on our website (see below).

Registration will officially open on March 1.

Graduates with a qualifying 200-hr certificate will be eligible to register as an RYT-500.

About the lead instructors: Joanna Dunn & Heather Anastos

joanna-dunn

A yoga teacher since 2001, Joanna’s background is eclectic. She teaches a variety of styles, including beginner level alignment, a Level 2 slow paced Vinyasa, Yin and Restorative as well as somatic movement and meditation. Her teaching is influenced by Iyengar-based teachers, Judith Lasater (Restorative yoga), Kathryn Payne (Pranayama) and Theresa Elliott (alignment, sequencing, and Vinyasa). Her primary influences from her early studies also include choreographed multidimensional vinyasa of Lynn Kingston and the accessible, gentle yoga of Kripalu. Joanna is currently studying with Tias and Surya Little of Prajna Yoga. Prajna fuses traditional yoga practices (Ashtanga and Iyengar) with the energy body wisdom of yoga and Chinese Medicine, Meditation of Buddhism and somatic movement of Feldenkrais and Hanna.

 

 

 

Heather Anastos

Heather has been practicing yoga since 2002. Her initial teacher trainings were completed in the Iyengar style of yoga. She is a graduate of Pacific Yoga’s 500-hour program, as well as a 400-hour program in Ayurveda through Kerala Ayurveda. In August 2016, Heather completed her Level 1 studies in Jyotish (Vedic Astrology), through a program which consolidates yoga, Ayurveda and Jyotish. She is the owner and director of Yoga Community in Kennewick, and was on faculty for the Pacific Yoga Teacher Training in Kennewick in 2013.
