- Study of the chakras that are energetically relevant to arm balances
- Teaching mindful awareness and inner peace through arm balances
- How to avoid the pitfalls of over-trying or attachment to asana
- Practice teaching arm balances
Asana practice generates internal heat. Fire and heat are embodied in the bandhas, which are muscular and energetic adjustments that transform our internal energies. The bandhas are at the very core of yoga. Through the bandhas we contain, transform and use heat and energy ― a process that also transforms the activity of our nervous system. The bandhas can be initially elusive, but they become quite natural with practice.
In this workshop, we will demystify the bandhas, and learn to apply them to a dynamic and fun solar practice that builds up the vibrant fire in your belly, leaving you energized and invigorated, as well as calm and centered. Additionally, we will explore:
-The Philosophy, Psychology and Science (Energetics) of the Manipura chakra
-Breathwork to cleanse and purify the Manipura chakra
-Mantras & meditation to awaken and balance solar energy in the Manipura chakra
The information in this course will be presented in a modern, western context that is accessible to students of all levels, not just those who wish to teach yoga.
All of our teacher trainings are structured to be beneficial and enjoyable for those who wish not to teach. We believe yoga is a path of lifelong learning. Teacher training is a term that we use because we are Yoga Alliance and Washington State Certified Teaching Vocational School and that is the language that they determined for these classes. But that does not mean that these trainings are restricted for teachers only. We welcome everyone who is curious, who enjoys learning, who wishes to understand yoga in a deeper level.
You can buy the 300 HR teacher training two ways. Either purchase it module per module or buy all 15 modules and save $400.00. If you want to buy all 15, please look for the link under the main page 500-HR Teacher Training.
To receive your 300-Hr diploma from Spira you must complete 15 modules and pass the final exam and presentation. The training can be completed in as little as 2 years. Most students can comfortably complete the training in 4 years. However, our program is flexible: You can study at your own pace, taking as many years as you need to finish all 15 modules. After each 4-year period, we will charge an additional $100 to reactivate your enrollment in the training

Dora Gyarmati BS, BA EYRT is the owner of Spira Power Yoga Studio and a creator of Spira Philosophy and Teaching Methodology (A 200hrs YA school). Her European heritage and education in both the sciences and in the humanities created a unique style which blends Eastern and Western theological, literally and scientific traditions. Spira Power Yoga teaches an athletic, flowing yoga style where laughter and compassion are muscles that are equally emphasized during practice. Outside of regular yoga classes she loves to write articles and teach workshops on introspection blending modern cognitive therapy ideas with theology and literature for the perfect.
Regan began his yoga practice in 2002 at the urging of his physicians to increase his flexibility while training for ultramarathons. Through the years his passions turned from running to yoga, where he discovered a life-changing, joyful, dedicated and rewarding practice that he simply needed to share with others.
Regan’s teaching style simply cannot be labeled. He takes what he learns from all his teachers and brings it to his students in a simplistic, almost mechanical way. He builds his students up through each individual class, as well as through their entire lifelong practice, to reach beyond their expectations, allowing them to find themselves somewhere new and amazing.
Through his training and engineering background, Regan’s teaching results in a very hands-on approach breaking down the asana, flow and physical adjustments to their most basic foundation. Regan is strongly influenced by Jonathan Bowra (of Forrest Yoga) both through being a student of his and through his ongoing specialized training. He completed a teacher training with Baron Baptiste and teaching assistance programs with local master teacher Lisa Black. He continues his training and practice by attending intensive sessions with master teachers such as Anna Forrest, Simon Park, Jason Crandell and Ed Clark.
Through the growth in his practice, Regan found that accomplishments on the mat do lead to exciting and new things in life, giving oneself new found confidence and personal respect. Therefore he teaches with a belief that anyone can achieve, urging everyone to try something new, just one small step at a time.
