Take the 4-week teacher training in 2017 with one week in one week in September 2017, one week in March 2018, one week in June 2018, and one week in July 2018. We will have our 2018 schedules up soon where you can also start in March 2018.

These courses are not just for people who want to teach yoga, but also for those who want to learn more about yoga and to develop their personal yoga practice. Iyengar Yoga is known for its precision, attention to detail, and alignment, and its use of props making yoga more accessible.

These courses are for those who want to know more about:

  • The history and development of yoga
  • The most important texts in the philosophy of yoga
  • The most significant teachers in the spread of yoga to the west.
  • Get lessons on Pranayama and Restorative Yoga
  • The different yoga traditions; bhakti, tantra, jnana, karma to name a few.
  • The life and teachings of BKS Iyengar.
  • How to develop an appropriate elegant and profound practice and much, much more.

Cost:

The regular fee for the training starting in 2017 is $3,100. We have this option available for $1,600 for those starting Sept 5th OR March 5, 2018. (Check the Website to see if the offer is still valid.)

We Also have a Choose Your Own Dates Option which allows you to take the 4 courses according to your availability as long as you take the 4 weeks in sequential order(take week 2 after taking week 1 etc). The choose your own dates option is also on Special for $1,998.The regular price is $3,100 for this option.

  • March 12 – 17, 2018
  • June 18 – 23, 2018
  • July 30 – August 4

The Daily Schedule is:

  • Monday 1:15 pm – 7:45 pm
  • Tuesday 1:15 pm – 10 pm
  • Wednesday 1:15 pm – 10 pm
  • Thursday 11:15 am – 7:45 pm
  • Friday 11:15 am – 8:00 pm
  • Saturday 10:45 am – 7:00 pm

About the Teacher: Richard Schachtel

Richard SchachtelRichard Schachtel has been training in Iyengar Yoga for over 40 years. He founded The Center For Yoga in 1980 and is a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher and an authorized Iyengar Yoga Teacher Trainer. He has made 22 yoga study trips to India to personally train with the Iyengar Family most recently in December 2016. Richard is the Seattle Area’s most Senior Iyengar Yoga Teacher. Richard has been training teachers in Seattle since 1986 and has influenced several generations of yoga teachers. There are over 100 recent graduates of this program which is offered also on the weekends, and in 4 week immersions. Richard has taught yoga workshops throughout the USA, at several Iyenger Yoga National Conventions, in Australia and India, and taught this spring in China.
