This enlivening workshop with Nicky Ruiz begins with mindful breathing techniques, and a refreshing Vinyasa flow to prepare the body, mind, and soul for a guided step-by-step journey of flight with the practice of five arm balancing postures
and their deeper symbolic meanings:

-Tittibhasana (Firefly)
-Pincha Mayurasana (Forearm Stand)
-Adho Mukha Vrksasana (Handstand)
-Uttana Prasithasana (Grasshopper)
-Eka Pada Galavasana (Flying Pigeon)

Arm balancing poses are a fun and thrilling way to rejuvenate and deepen your asana practice while improving concentration, patience, strength, and bravery. This 2-hour practice will aspire you to build confidence, courage, core strength and endurance, both on and off the mat!

Nicky’s journey with yoga began over 17 years ago, at a time in her life when anxiety seemed to rule over her health and well-being. Through the practice and lifestyle of yoga, she has felt a significant, deep and sustainable transformation for the better. This has created a profound passion that shines through in her teachings. Nicky teaches yoga with skill, humor and compassion. She delivers wisdom and guidance to her students in a way it can be understood, felt, and applied to everyday life. She has a background in rehabilitation as well as mental health & psychology. This depth of knowledge allows her to provide an enriching experience to her students in an array of subjects – from human physical and spiritual anatomy to the neurological, psychological and physical benefits of yoga. Nicky illuminates to her students how the practice of mindfulness and the eight-limbed path of yoga are our guides to creating a safe yoga practice, and lasting improvements in all aspects of life. Bridging the gaps of life on and off the mat. Showing ways in which yoga brings change, transformation, healing, and growth.
