You are only as old as your spine! Our well-being is greatly enhanced by a healthy backbone. According to yoga tradition, the vital energy of the body is housed in and protected by the spinal column. From an energetic perspective, a well-rounded, balanced yoga practice includes moving the spine in all directions, and contains the right balance of backward bends (a.k.a. spine extension) and forward bends (a.k.a. spine flexion), as well as side stretches (a.k.a. lateral flexion of the spine) and twists (a.k.a. spine rotation) in both the right and left directions. In this workshop, you will learn major alignment principles of flexion, extension, lateral flexion and rotation of the spine, setting yourself on the path to developing a stable spinal column that is both strong and supple. Open to all levels.

“The wave along the spine is like the melody in music. When the beautiful flow of extension is in action, this wave (felt along with the magical attraction of gravity) will help the body find the right adjustment in the performance of the various movements.” ~ Vanda Scaravelli
