Balance Vata and Kapha Doshas in time for the Holidays

Open to all levels, this workshop offers a comprehensive overview of Ayurveda. It explores the main five elements that constitute the Universe, as we know it: Ether, Air, Fire, Water, and Earth, and their intimate relationship to our nature.

We will study the Doshas or our in-born constitution: Vata, Pitta, Kapha, focusing on how Vata and Kapha doshas become exacerbated during the winter season, and the practices that can help keep us balanced throughout.

Using asana, lecture, and discussion, Maritza will introduce participants to the basic principals of Ayurveda, helping each student determine their dosha or in-born constitution. Participants will explore the Six Tastes, including the recommended tastes for their dosha. And finally, in preparation for the season ahead, students will learn about the concepts of Vata Pushing Kapha and Vata Management, along with the guidelines for harmonizing their own nutrition, with recommend yoga, and Ayurvedic therapies to keep them balanced throughout the busy, cold, and wet Northwest winter.

Please bring a yoga mat, water bottle, notebook, and a writing instrument.
