Chakra Balancing Vinyasa Workshop with Carina

Theory and practice come together in this 2.5-hour workshop.

All levels welcome.

There are seven major chakras arranged along the midline of the body, from the base of the spine to the crown of the head, each corresponding to a different level of consciousness. The chakras are spinning vortices of energy that absorb, transform, and spit out energy, much like a black hole. What comes in is usually different from what goes out. When they are spinning optimally, each chakra vibrates at a specific frequency, and emits pulsating light (not visible to the human eye) that corresponds to a different color in the rainbow spectrum of light.

As centers of consciousness, the chakras function as energetic “filters” for how we perceive reality and interact with the material world. If those filters are not cleaned up from time to time, they accumulate energetic “sludge” which can muddy the waters of perception. Over time, the chakras become sluggish, which prevents them from vibrating at the optimal frequencies. Energetic blocks or imbalances in the chakras may potentially translate into physical, mental, or emotional distress or disease. For this reason — just as we may be compelled to do a thorough house cleaning or a detoxifying body cleanse in the spring time — it is a good idea to do a chakra clearing to get rid of the energetic “dust and cobwebs” that we’ve accumulated during the long winter months. Chakra balancing creates a sense of equilibrium between body and mind. When the chakras are returned to their natural frequencies, inner peace, well-being, and joy will follow.
