Childrens Yoga Book Reading - aditi yoga

Join local yoga instructor and children’s book author, Lilia Karimi, for a children’s yoga, storytime reading, and Q&A session. This event is open to children and parents alike, with the opportunity to purchase signed copies of the book towards the end of the event.

Lilia’s book “Lily Finds Her Om Way” familiarizes our little ones with the importance of taking care of your body and the beauty of yoga – character Lily goes on a magical adventure through nature with her grandmother to learn the ways in which her body can bend, stretch, and grow! This picture book introduces children to yoga in a playful and creative way.

Starting with a frog and ending with a lion, Lily discovers yoga poses children can follow and try at home with every animal and piece of nature she connects with in the story. This story will immediately inspire children to connect and learn from the world around them, as well as serve as an accessible entry point to children’s yoga.

About the instructor: Lilia Karimi

Lilia KarimiI first started my own version of yoga when I was young – in junior high- and my method of stress release was stretching. I’d go into our family workout room and spend an hour stretching, and then when friends would come over I’d also make them stretch with me (I was always a blast to hangout with!).

As I grew older and entered college, I started to experience changes in my body that did not happen in high school when I was practicing on dance team for 15 hours a week. Different insecurities and self-judgement followed. I was so out of touch with my body – and the only movement I had at the time was walking from class to class. Knowing that I needed some space for movement, I picked up my yoga practice again and yoga started to become a safe space for myself. No judgement for myself or the growing curves, but rather appreciation for my body. I was getting stronger, felt sexier, and confidence from the yoga mat started to translate into my real life.

I help to bring wellness and sustainability at the forefront of all my work. Through “Lily Finds Her OM Way”, I write to spread the connection of nature and mindfulness. Through my business wedwell, I spread the concept of holistic healing and love. Through Giving Bag, I help people recycle their unwanted items while traveling.
