How might we bring more compassion & mindfulness into our work & communities?

The purpose of this event is to bring together, and support, people and organizations committed to the practices of mindfulness and compassion. By gathering, connecting, and sharing knowledge and experience, we will encourage and inspire one another in fostering compassion and mindfulness in our workplaces and communities. This event is inspired by the vision of a more peaceful, just and sustainable world.

  • Learn about models and examples of bringing mindfulness/compassion into workplaces and communities
  • Network and connect with people, businesses and organizations engaged in, or interested in, this work
  • Explore and experience diverse practices, techniques and technologies that promote increased mindfulness, compassion, and communication effectiveness
  • Access resources for additional study/research, and existing, local groups and initiatives, to support ongoing learning and development
  • Participate in an emergent design of a community, and a regional movement

Format & Design

The event will focus on resource and knowledge-sharing, experiential learning, and community-building. The day will combine plenary sessions (175 attendees max) and break-outs (10-50ppl), focusing less on speeches and keynotes and more on

  • Active inquiry around tools and ideas for driving cultural change towards more mindful workplaces and communities
  • Creating relationships among like-minded, and like-intended attendees.

  • Pete Holmes – City Attorney, Seattle: Mindfulness & Compassion in Government
  • Jabali Stewart – The Bush School: Peace Making Circles

*** Proceeds beyond expenses from this event will benefit Space Between. Space Between brings research-based practices in yoga, breathing, and mindfulness to children, teens, educators, and families across Washington State.
