Join us for an Action-Packed Weekend Immersions on Exploring The Path of Practice with Center For Yoga of Seattle Director Richard Schachtel
Feb. 13th, 2021 – Feb. 15th, 2021
10:00am-1:00pm Yoga Asana Practice
4:00pm-6:00pm Hip Opening Poses, Restoratives, Inversions, & Pranayama

The weekend will be based upon The Outstanding and Internationally Acclaimed Yoga System developed by BKS Iyengar and his family in India over the past 80 years, known as Iyengar Yoga.

Having 6-15 hours during the weekend to develop one’s practice is indeed a luxury. It is also very helpful to be guided by an experienced yoga teacher.

You will be practicing and exploring Poses from a wide variety of categories: standing, backward extending, hip-opening, rotational (twisting), forward extending, inverted, and restorative. The afternoon sessions will lead to the seldom taught important practice of pranayama, the yoga art of breath control.

The immersive weekend is for students from all over the world who can take this live workshop compatible with their time zone. Seattle is USA  Pacific Standard Time Zone.

The event is open to all who have some foundation in Iyengar Yoga: know and practice the basic standing poses, have some familiarity in using the basic yoga props, know how to do shoulder stand with blankets. They should also not have major injuries.

You will need to have access to the basic yoga props:
1 non skid yoga mat
3-6 Firm Blankets for Yoga
1-2 Blocks
1-2 Yoga traps

Helpful also to have but not required are:
1-2 bolsters
1 chair for yoga, metal, wood, or plastic. Backless is best but no backless can usually work

The Weekend is for those who want to improve at yoga asana and pranayama practice, and want to learn more about the fine points and refinements that the Iyengar Yoga system is known for.

We expect to have an international group of motivated practitioners for the weekend.
