Come celebrate the roots of yoga at this full-moon devotional event. We’ll explore gentle movement, guided meditation, and mantra with reflection, joy, and intent. Our gathering and blessings will center around the murti of Śiva depicted as Naṭarāja—Lord of Dance—sitting on the altar within the heart of Seattle Yoga Arts’s main studio.
The evening will also provide an opportunity to encounter the richness of nondual Tantric teachings. By exploring both stillness and power as represented through Śiva and Śakti, our journey examines their inseparable dance as a portal to integrating body and spirit and as a key to enlivening our internal relationship to meditation.
Everyone is welcome at this gathering; all people, all backgrounds, and all beliefs will be respected. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned practitioner, our sacred circle promises to provide safe space so we can reach intimately into ourselves, release accumulated tensions and old fears, and set honorable, inspiring intentions for our yogic journeys and the world in 2022.
Tuition: $35

About the instructor: Lara Sanderson

Lara-SandersonI began studying yoga over 25 years ago after training to dance professionally. My first Hatha class was with Jo Leffingwell, where I landed intimately within the very alive, miraculous interior landscape of my body. Since then, I’ve been inspired by many advanced female practitioners, including Denise Benitez and other teachers and students in the Seattle Yoga Arts community.

In 2011, I began to study meditation full-time, inspired by Sally Kempton, a former Vedic Swami from my father Marty’s yogic lineage. I am an avid explorer of habits that facilitate deeper meditative awareness and support the physical body in partnering with its awakened energy. My personal sadhana draws from Iyengar, Anusara, Siddha Yoga, dance, Reiki, and qi gong. I love gardening, cooking, writing, art and animals, and am a certified level III Reiki practitioner.

It is a joy to share in service with others discovering and following their own unique spiritual path. My wish for the world is that everyone develops the inherent power that resides within. When individuals master peace, so too, will our communities.
