About the instructor: Lara Sanderson
I began studying yoga over 25 years ago after training to dance professionally. My first Hatha class was with Jo Leffingwell, where I landed intimately within the very alive, miraculous interior landscape of my body. Since then, I’ve been inspired by many advanced female practitioners, including Denise Benitez and other teachers and students in the Seattle Yoga Arts community.
In 2011, I began to study meditation full-time, inspired by Sally Kempton, a former Vedic Swami from my father Marty’s yogic lineage. I am an avid explorer of habits that facilitate deeper meditative awareness and support the physical body in partnering with its awakened energy. My personal sadhana draws from Iyengar, Anusara, Siddha Yoga, dance, Reiki, and qi gong. I love gardening, cooking, writing, art and animals, and am a certified level III Reiki practitioner.
It is a joy to share in service with others discovering and following their own unique spiritual path. My wish for the world is that everyone develops the inherent power that resides within. When individuals master peace, so too, will our communities.
