Cultural Competency for Yoga Teachers and Studio Staff: A Conversation

Join RW Alves and Krista Hanson for a facilitated discussion about “Cultural Competency” for yoga teachers, studio owners, and studio staff. We will gather to talk about how we in the yoga community can: explore unconscious biases and cultural assumptions/understandings, investigate how they affect our interactions with the general public and with people of color, and learn how we can move forward from a deeper awareness of privilege, difference, and the meaning of true allyship. This conversation is a follow-up to a workshop on Cultural Competency with Dr. Caprice Hollins but attendance at previous workshop not required as we will review key concepts.
