While there is great benefit to getting away for a while on a longer retreat, it can be quite transformational taking just a few hours from a weekend afternoon to dedicate to your practice. In the typical drop in class, there is often not enough time to really delve into the deeper work and yogic philosophy. By setting aside more time, there is the potential to go deeper and come to greater realizations and true knowing. At the same time, the longer practice can give adequate time for grounding and feeling ready to integrate that understanding into daily life.

Come join Julie for an afternoon of practice in your familiar setting at Phinney Ridge Yoga. The afternoon will include an extended pranayama (breath work) and kriya (repetitive movements and breath patterns that affect energy) practice, guided and silent meditation, and a moderate-level asana (posture) practice. The asana portion of the program will be comprised of hatha (familiar strengthening & stretching postures), yin (long-held stretches), and restorative (supported) postures. The intent is for this time together to be primarily experiential, with some philosophy being discussed and included in the practice.

Give yourself the great gift of dedicating more time to your practice, exploring potent philosophical concepts, and applying those concepts to your future practices and everyday life.
