This outdoor yoga class will be held at the Olympic Sculpture Park’s amphitheater. In the event of inclement weather classes will be moved into the adjacent Pavilion. Please bring your own mat and plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before class to check-in.

Description:8 Limbs is thrilled to partner with the Seattle Art Museum once again to offer free classes to the public at the spectacular Olympic Sculpture Park. These All Levels classes are part of SAM’s “GET OUT! Summer at SAM” series and run every Saturday from July 12 through September 27, 2014.

Teacher Bio: With over 20 years of experience, Dawn Jansen is a highly trained and versatile yoga instructor who has been featured in Yoga International magazine. Dawn has taught in Seattle since 1995 and brings a practical and contemporary approach to yoga.
Trained in various systems including classical, modern and traditional dance, theatre and martial arts, Dawn began practicing yoga at the Jiva Mukti Yoga School in 1991.
Dawn has studied with some of the top yoga teachers in the United States, including Sharon Gannon and David Life at Jivamukti Yoga, Rama Berch, Mark Whitwell, Doug Swenson, Ana Forest, Jo Leffingwell, Dharma Mittra, and Rod Stryker. Dawn was the founder of Jai Ma Yoga Studio from 2000-2004 and her primary influences are based on her studies in Ashtanga, Iyengar and Krishnamachayra yoga.
Dawn mixes a variety of hatha yoga techniques and works with students of all levels to create classes with individual instruction and a healthy sense of humor. Her classes include invigorating vinyasa sequences, philosophy from the masters and personal instruction and assists tailored to a broad range of students.
Dawn teaches students to utilize the body as a means for strengthening self-awareness, concentration and meditation, as well as to purify and energize the mind. Her classes are dynamic and, most importantly, flat-out fun.
In addition to group classes, Dawn is also offers private instruction, childrenโ€™s classes and teacher training. Teaching at all levels, her instruction focuses not only on keeping the body healthy and flexible, but on opening the mind to long-term relaxation and well-being.
