Saturdays at noon in July with Emily, Margo, and Ommy
All Level Yoga Outside
Enjoy an hour-long yoga practice under the summer sun. All levels welcome.
Older children are welcome. (We recommend ages 14+, though younger children who enjoy quiet, focussed yoga practice for an hour are welcome to join their parents, too!)
We will meet on the lawn west of the playground in Sunset Park. If rain is present we will move to the picnic area if it’s not in use.
Bring sun protection, water, and your own yoga mat.

Emily O’Dea, Certified Pilates Instructor & Yoga Alliance RYT 500
What to Expect in Class: Positive affirmations; time to be connected with the body and breath; awareness of alignment and fills classes with ways to honor where your body and mind are on that day. All yoga classes end with a moment to reflect on gratitude. Due to her experience teaching privates and special populations she has a sharp eye for precision and knowledge to modify and adjust if chronic or acute pain or unique needs are present.
Margo Peña, Yoga Alliance E-RYT 500, YACEP
Most Recent Training: Anatomy-based Yoga Teaching Methodology with Julie Gudmestad, and Essential Yoga Therapy 500-hour Advanced Teacher Training with Robin Rothenberg
What to Expect in Class: Sequences of poses are typically repeated for several weeks to build strength and familiarity in those poses over time, but expect plenty of opportunities to adapt the poses for either more or less intensity to create a unique experience every week. New areas of focus, techniques, or themes will be introduced weekly to layer more depth progressively in each practice. And all is done with a noncompetitive, light-hearted approach so you can enjoy the journey just as much as actually getting to the destination.
Margo’s Yoga Fundamentals classes are often mini workshop-like practices intended to build muscular endurance and offer opportunities to explore different variations of poses. Her flow-style classes are typically slow flow, focussing on strong, steady transitions with progressively building sequences, that often borrow tremendously from the Ashtanga tradition’s primary series. Margo’s Intermediate Level classes are designed for those already familiar with asana alignment and variations, so fewer alignment queues are given – allowing more time to incorporate more pranayama, meditation and yoga philosophy into these practices.
Omayra Rivera (Ommy), Yoga Alliance E-RYT 200, RYT 500, YACEP
What to Expect in Class: A very traditional style of Ashtanga-influenced hatha yoga. The emphasis will be breathing and helping you to not only improve strength, flexibility and balance but also to help de-stress and find inner peace in this fast paced, demanding world. Ommy aspires to teach and inspire others to blossom into their greatest selves – not only teaching, but also learning along the way with them.
