This two-part series, led by Mikey Liau, will provide an introduction to meditation. You’ll leave knowing the basics of meditation, how to set yourself up successfully to meditate. Over the two sessions you’ll dip your toes into several types of meditation, and feel ready to meditate on your own.

Meditation is a practice that is accessible to all, no matter how busy your brain is, how loud your meditation space is, and no matter how fidgety you are.

About the instructor: Mikey Liau

Mikey LiauI found myself on a yoga mat, by way of meditation during a period of transition in my life. 10+ years of working long stressful hours in technology, a minor heart attack before I hit 30, the unexpected death of a close friend, and a messy divorce shook me to the point where I could no longer ignore the wise, silent voice within that beckoned for my attention. On my mat and cushion, one breath, one pose, and one moment at a time, I began to let go of the stories to which I had been bound. In the newly discovered space, I found the joy, ease, and gratitude that had always been just below the surface.
I also found myself a member of a community of brilliant yogis. As a student and teacher, yoga has introduced me to so many wonderful human beings. Some have challenged me, some have encouraged me, some have simply walked next to me, but all have laughed with me and shown me the infinite depth and joy of being human. Really, that’s what I hope to share: the joy of being yourself, exactly as you are.
