Intro to Mindfulness Meditation | ONLINE

In this four-week series, participants will learn basic skills and receive support to begin a daily 10-20 minute mindfulness meditation practice.

Every day, it seems, there is a new study or news piece on the benefits of daily meditation practice. Here is just a sample of the results you can expect based on scientific studies in the last decade*:

lowered blood pressure

pain relief

reduce digestive issues such as IBS and ulcerative colitis

relieve depression and anxiety

reduce insomnia

Despite the news coverage, it is difficult to figure out where to start when it comes to establishing a regular practice. Most people who are able to start and stay with a consistent practice do so under the instruction of a teacher and within a community of support.

In this four-week series, you will be given step-by-step instructions that build each week so that you can begin a very simple, yet powerful practice to better improve your health and wellbeing.

  • Class One: Meditation Basics: Mindfulness of Breath (90 Minute Class)
  • Class Two: Compassion – Metta practice (60 Minute Class)
  • Class Three: Mindfulness of Sensation (60 Minute Class)
  • Class Four: Mindfulness of Thought and Emotion (60 Minute Class)
  • Class Five: Mindfulness in everyday life; Sustaining your practice (60 Minute class)

Each class will include instructions (20-25 minutes); practice (15 minutes) and community check in and Q&A time (20 minutes). Please allow an extra 30 minutes for the first class for introductions.

Each student also may take advantage of a 20 minute one-on-one with Joanna.

Scheduled: February 14 2022. Mondays 6:30-7:30pm (First class will end at 8pm)
Location: ONLINE – Via Zoom

Cost: Sliding Scale $45-$125
