Join Ellen for a fun, life-giving introduction to Ayurveda. This healing science developed alongside the practices of yoga is designed to empower you to know yourself deeply and to live a life in rhythm with nature for optimal vitality, well-being and awakening.

What is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda is a Sanskrit word that translates to “the wisdom of life.” It is the 5,000 year old Natural Medicine of India.

Some benefits are:

  • Empowers you to know your body/mind type, live in accordance with that balance and take responsibility for your own health
  • Considers you holistically (ie, your body/mind and spirit) and offers natural ways of treating diseases and promoting health
  • Cost effective and it works!

How can Ayurveda help me?

Yoga and Ayurveda are the perfect grounding medicine to balance the fast, sharp and always-moving culture in which we currently abide. Over 90% of all diseases can be avoided or greatly lessened by living a life of balance and health. Learn to live in alignment with your personal wellness blueprint (prakriti) and nature so that you can thrive and fulfill your life’s purpose (dharma). Discover how simple daily habits can transform your energy, vitality and awakeness as we dive into the philosophy and world-view of Ayurveda and yoga.

About the Teacher: Ellen Boyle

Ellen Boyle Yoga SeattleEllen Boyle, MFA, E-RYT 500, has been delving into the practices and teachings of yoga for over 30 years.  A professional teaching-artist she is currently a Professor at Cornish College of the Arts where she teaches Physical Technique in the theater department and yoga to all departments. She is also a founding member of Operating Theater Company which opens its rehearsals and process to the student actors at Cornish integrating  professional practices into the academic setting. She has been blessed on her yogic journey to study with many wonderful teachers, including Gary Kraftsow, Robin Rothenberg, Kathleen Hunt, Denise Benetiz, Sonya Nelson and Martin Kirk. In 2015, to deepen her understanding of the sister sciences of yoga, she completed a 500 hour Ayurvedic Wellness Counselor Certification with Kerala Ayurveda Academy and is available for yoga therapy and private wellness counseling using the tools of Ayurveda. Ellen integrates the practice of mindfulness into her classes to calm the mind and allow a deep and direct experience of the present moment. With a deep bow of gratitude for the many gifts yoga continues to bring to her experience of life, Ellen offers her teaching from a place of compassion and playfulness desiring that all beings everywhere be happy and free.
