An Introduction to Rain with kim Tull-Esterbrook in Greenwood

In this 2 day workshop, we will explore the practice of RAIN. RAIN Is a useful Acronym to help remember the steps of the practice:
R ecognize what is happening;
A llow the experience to be there, just as it is;
I nvestigate with interest and care;
N urture with self-compassion.
RAIN is an insightful self-inquiry practice that you can bring into your daily life to help you discover the deep patterns of what triggers strong emotional reactions. It is a process of Investigating what you feel physically, mentally, and emotionally and loosening the mind’s stories around those experiences. This practice helps to create the space for you to be with things as they are, to deepen your understanding of what underlies, your fears, anger, and sadness. It can also grant you the freedom to look at the situation differently and choose a response other than what may be dictated by your story. And all the while, helping to cultivate a real sense of understanding and compassion toward your own vulnerability.

About the instructor: Kim Tull-Esterbrook
Kim Tull-Esterbrook is certified through both the 200 and 500 hour teacher training programs at Whole Life Yoga, and is the current owner of Whole Life Yoga Studio. Kim uses yoga as a tool to help her know and understand herself and the world more fully. She has found that yoga, as a practice, helps her move with courage and grace through all the beautiful and challenging things she finds through that searching. She is drawn to the deeper tools of practice and she tries to infuse her asana classes with the richness of the other limbs of yoga. She is drawn to mediation, myth, and sound. She delights in ritual and play and feels incredibly blessed that her path has led her to the viniyoga tradition. In taking leadership of Whole Life Yoga, she hopes to nurture and foster the vibrant community that already exists and offer practices and tools to deepen connection to self, to spirit, and to one another.
