Are you ready to begin your yoga practice?
With all the recent changes, uncertainty, and unknowns, now seems the perfect time to add yoga to your self-care regime. (Think: reduce stress, breathe deep and slow down a little.) Come learn with us in a fun, safe, and welcoming environment.
Richard leads this special beginner series, offering all the important foundational aspects of yoga with an emphasis on proper alignment & technique. He will help you learn to release tension and stress in the body, build strength and flexibility, and gain a deeper connection to your body that will benefit you on and off your mat.

This 3-week series is designed specifically for the absolute beginner, a returning yogi who has taken a hiatus from practice, or anyone wanting a step-by-step review of the basics. Students will be gradually introduced to a variety of beginner-level yoga poses and will learn how to use props and stay safe through alignment basics.

Although we’ll cover a lot, there will be time for questions, demonstration, and review. We look forward to helping you build a healthy foundation for your practice. Upon completion, graduates will have enough knowledge to be comfortable walking into a group yoga class.

This series will cover:

· Breath

· Movement

· Sun Salutations

· Warrior Poses

· Standing Balance

· Seated Poses

· Chest/Shoulder Opening

· Back Strengthening

About the instructor:
 Richard Guevara

Richard GuevaraRichard Guevara is certified to instruct and guide his students through alignment based vinyasa and restorative yoga. He completed two separate 200 RYT trainings, including Annie Carpenter’s SmartFlow training. He plans to complete his 500 hour certification within the year.

As a former athlete who suffered multiple injuries resulting in chronic pain, he found comfort and relief through his yoga practice. It became such a vital part of his life that he decided to enroll in teacher training; he has been an active instructor ever since. His style of yoga is smooth, alignment-based and favors breath over movement. He believes each movement is a pose in itself stemming from the core.  He avidly believes in yoga’s ability to restore and heal the body as well as the mind. Richard loves to challenge his students and show that regardless of fitness level, anything is possible with practice. He also aims to have his students leave his class energized with renewed or continued faith in their ability to find comfort and release in his sessions.

Richard is an avid Pacific North West overall outdoor enthusiast as well as a mountaineer, passionate climber, acroyogi, and cyclist. You can count on finding him outside rain or shine.
