Modern day lifestyle of long periods of sitting at a computer, often with a curved back and slouched shoulders, shrinks your chest cavity and puts pressure on your spine. This posture can make you feel sluggish, closed off and anything but joyful.

Backbends are a wonderful remedy, allowing you to open the front of the body so you can feel the joy of your breath flowing freely, improve flexibility in your spine and open your hips and shoulders.

In this workshop, we will safely warm up the body and use the Wall Ropes to go deeper into backbends. HeartfullTM Meditation will be incorporated to help expand the feeling of joy as you create more opening in your chest.

You will leave feeling more freedom in your breath, more alive, vibrant and embracing the joy of the moment.

About the Instructor: Nikita Kohli

Nitika KohliNitika has been a student of yoga since 2006 and she is a certified Purna Yoga Teacher at the 2,000
hour level since 2008. She is also the Studio manager at Alive & Shine Center since 2015. She loves teaching and helping students feel safe in the environment they are in so they can enjoy the adventure of opening up their body.

Nitika is also a licensed massage therapist and offers massage at Alive & Shine Center. She loves
to travel, go hiking, meet new people, dancing and is currently learning how to salsa dance and
sew.
