In this 90-minute astrology inspired workshop that celebrates growth and expansion of mind and body, students will be invited to embrace the energy of Jupiter (the planet of growth, abundance, insight, and inspiration) and explore the idea of abundance and expansion within their bodies and breath.
In Astrology and body, Sagittarius and Jupiter rule the thighs, hips, liver, arteries, blood vessels, pituitary gland, and sciatic nerve. The astrological house, or the area of our life, that Jupiter activates during its transit, experiences change and transformation.
The first part of the workshop is a playful vinyasa flow carefully sequenced to energize the areas of the body ruled by the planet Jupiter. The second part of the class is a treat made of yin-restore sequence targeting the liver – gallbladder meridian during which, Alexandra Panic will offer an overview of how we can use the power of Jupiter to invite prosperity and abundance in 2020.
Astrology aside, this workshop will offer students a unique opportunity to revitalize the body and reconnect with the breath.

About the instructor: Aleksandra Panic
I first touched a yoga mat in the winter of 2009 at 8 Limbs Studio on Capitol Hill, a couple of months after my husband and I had moved to Seattle. I grew up in southeastern Europe, in Belgrade, Serbia, where I graduated in Italian Language and Literature and worked as a journalist, copywriter, and a teacher of both Italian and English. All my life I was a writer. In my language, I have published three books of poetry and numerous articles in different publications. I created ads, slogans, and campaigns for big brands like Coca-Cola, Maybelline New York, HP, Lexus, and others. When I moved to Seattle, I lost my language, hence the ability to write or work in my field. When a writer loses her tongue, it is as uncomfortable as losing breath. I was anxious, scared, ashamed, doubtful, sad, and I turned to yoga. And not just to the asana practice but to other limbs of yoga, exercising Svadayaya, self-study and study in general, Pranayama so I could come back to breath, and Dharana or focused concentration, so I could embrace and adopt the new culture, and the new language.Since 2009, I have become a mom of two girls, a confident writer who now can write in all her languages, an editor, a teacher of creative writing, and, a yoga teacher. I hold an MFA in Creative Writing from Goddard College, I write fiction and essays in English, and I recently completed a 200 hours yoga teacher training at Sangha.I see my yoga practice as the most important thread that unites all I am and all I do. None of this would have been realized if I wasn’t coming back to my mat, to my breath, to my body; if I didn’t learn how to still my mind and open my heart. What interests me the most as a yoga teacher, is the possibility of employing asana, pranayama, and meditation to awaken and blossom creativity. This has worked for me, and I am passionate about sharing what I learned and what Im still learning to help creative minds unearth their hidden potential and tell stories hidden in their bodies through writing or art. Or just open up to the possibility that because of our yoga practice, we can become the best versions of ourselves, we can be whole, and entirely happy.
