[Live Streamed] Dharma Wisdom Seattle Sangha: Summer 2022 Session
Jul 8, 2022 @ 8:00 am - 9:30 am| $89
8-Week Series with Meg Agnew & Rebecca Denk
The intention of this program is to encourage a deepening of our meditation practice and, within the refuge of sangha (spiritual community), to share insights and support for living with wisdom and compassion. We’ll begin each of our 8 online meetings with a half-hour of meditation followed by an investigation of Real Change: Mindfulness to Heal Ourselves and the World by Sharon Salzberg.
This newly published book, written by the author of Lovingkindness, is intended to support those of us who work for personal and societal transformation. It is a guide that inspires us with stories of individuals and teams who are making a difference in our world while teaching us how to avoid feeling overwhelmed and burned out. In the author’s own words, it was written to “convey how to navigate these waters of action and awareness in the healthiest ways possible.”
“Inspiring, loving, and empowering. The perfect medicine for these difficult times.” ~Jack Kornfield

About the instructors: Meg Agnew & Rebecca Denk
Meg, M.A., has enjoyed teaching at SYA since 1993. She has completed comprehensive training in both the Iyengar and Anusara styles of yoga and her teaching also reflects her study of several spiritual traditions. In 2009, Meg was a graduate of the first Mindfulness Yoga and Meditation Training at Spirit Rock Meditation Center, CA. Compassionate mindfulness is a prominent aspect of her yoga classes. With carefully sequenced instruction and a light-hearted approach, Meg encourages students to participate in the powerfully transformative process at the heart of yoga. She believes that yoga is an exploration leading to self-acceptance, healing, and an ever-deepening experience of freedom and love. Meg is a certified Qi-gong teacher.
Rebecca, RYT 200, has been a dedicated yoga student for over two decades and began teaching yoga in her Central District neighborhood in 2007. She offers weekly classes at Seattle Yoga Arts and Studio Arcadia in the CD. When not teaching, she often can be found behind her desk as Director of Finance & HR at KEXP 90.3 FM. Rebecca primarily trained in Anusara Yoga with Denise Benitez and Elizabeth Rainey, and in Prenatal Yoga with Jessica Jennings. Her classes are characterized by warmth, humor and a focus on physical alignment. Rebecca’s study of Buddhist meditation and appreciation for each student’s unique path greatly inform her teaching.
