Managing Stress Through the Breath: An Outdoor Event with Rai Lowe

May 22, 2022 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm

| $90

Event Navigation

Our breath affects our nervous system, which governs our ability to feel relaxed, energized, and balanced.

Yoga has a long tradition of harnessing the breath using pranayama to support wellness, both our physical and mental & emotional well-being. Chronic issues, life’s challenges, and feelings of anxiousness or stress, can all wear down our reserves and leave us depleted over time. This workshop will help you get to know the breath practices that can best serve you on your path to wellness and equanimity.

This is an OUTDOOR event (no online option) so that we may come together in community, in our satsang, to explore:

  • Four breath techniques will be explained in theory and then practiced
  • A short introspection or meditation following each breath practice
  • Ample time for questions and discussion
  • A few gentle movements will be practiced to support the breath techniques

Everyone is welcome to attend this workshop – you do not need previous yoga, meditation, or breath-work experience. All you need is an open mind.

This workshop will take place at Rai’s home on her back deck on Mercer Island. This is the perfect location to join together safely in the fresh air without worry of interruption. Upon registration you will be sent via email the exact location and other important information you need to join us.

Schedule: Sun Date: May 22 2022 From: 11:30 AM 1:00 PM
Tuition: $35

*Pre-registration is required.
*Cancellation policy: Yogabliss cannot offer refunds. If you provide 48 hours notice that you cannot attend, Yogabliss will credit your account the tuition for the workshop for future use.
*In accordance with the CDC & WA State Mandate, masks are optional for students & staff.

With instructor: Rai Lowe

Rai Lowe - Yoga Seattle

Rachel Lowe (‘Rai’) began practicing yoga while teaching fitness classes and found the balancing effects of yoga immediately. She encourages all levels of students to tune in and listen to their bodies and utilize modification options as necessary. By taking what we learn during our sadhana (practice) to other aspects of our lives, we provide a method and a metaphor to discover and create the many ways of letting balance unfold in our lives simply through the mindful practice of yoga.
“Yoga has taught me to try to meet injuries or other physical or mental challenges with some level of santosha (contentment) and detachment. I try not to let things derail me…but it is an ongoing life practice both on and off the mat.”
Rai has been teaching since 2001 and holds 500-RYT and RPYT certifications. She finds joy in teaching Prenatal teacher trainings and playing in partner yoga poses. She lives on Mercer Island with her husband and children. She enjoys rollerblading, rock climbing, cycling and teaching kids yoga at her son’s school. “The Quest of Effort is a place where I begin where I am and playfully find balance over and over again. I spiral and split but in the end I am still whole.”
