This is a Unique Immerion Yoga Teacher Training Course in Seattle focusing on the Alignment Yoga System  Called Iyengar Yoga

This 4-week training allows students to be recognized as a 200 HR Registered Yoga Teacher. It is approved by Yoga Alliance and has had over 125 graduates over the past several years.
We will focus on understanding, practicing and teaching Asana in the great yoga tradition of BKS Iyengar, author of Light on Yoga, Light on Pranayama, and Light on The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.
The course also includes Pranayama, Yoga Philosophy, Anatomy for Yoga, Theory and Teaching Methodology, Student Teaching, Ethics of Teaching Yoga and Much More!This 4-week immersion teacher training meets 24 days over a 27 day period. The 4-Week Immersion teacher training is also offered in  July & September of each year, and in Goa India usually in November or December.

The Asana, Pranayama, and Methodology are based upon the brilliant work of Yogacharya BKS Iyengar, author of Light on Yoga and many other influential books.

Its teachers are trained to make yoga accessible to a wide range of students. Millions of students and teachers worldwide have been influenced by this method of yoga.

About the Teacher: Richard Schachtel

Richard Schachtel

Richard Schachtel is one of the most experienced yoga teacher trainers in the USA. He has been giving teacher training courses in Seattle since 1986.

Richard founded The Center For Yoga of Seattle in 1980 and continues to serve as its Director. Since 1980 he has traveled 23 times to India to Train with BKS Iyengar, Geeta Iyengar and Prashant Iyengar at their Institute in Poona.

Richard has been a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher since 1984. He also earned a Sivananda Yoga Teaching Certificate in 1974.

Richard has been one of 60 Plus Assessors who work for the BKs Iyengar Association of the United Stated to Certify Teachers in Iyengar Yoga, for 20 years.

He has most recently studied in India with Geeta Iyengar in December of 2014 and 2015, and Prashant Iyengar in 2016 and 2017.

 

The Training Starts on Monday, March 4th at 2pm and Ends on Saturday, March 30th at 7:00pm.

The Daily schedule for the teacher training is as follows:

  • Tuesdays 1:15pm-10:00pm
  • Wednesdays 1:15pm-10:00pm
  • Thursdays 10:00am-7:40pm
  • Fridays 11:15am-8:00pm
  • Saturdays 10:45am-7:15pm
  • Sundays Off
