While in each restorative shape Taylor Azar will provide intuitive, deep hands-on compression and traction massage holds which will be specifically curated to your body’s needs in the moment, and Sharon will provide gentle touch and Holy Fire Reiki energy work. About the instructors:
Sharon Barto Gouran has been practicing yoga since 2003, and teaching since 2011. Having begun practicing with primarily physical motives, she soon discovered a much deeper connection between the mind, body and spirit through breath. The sense of peace beginning to carry over from the mat into daily life was impossible to ignore. After moving to Seattle in 2007, Sharon stumbled Yogalife as a student and would continue to complete the 200 Hour Teacher Training with the studio.
Sharon encourages both creativity and mindfulness in her classes. Acknowledging that yoga is a life-long journey, she emphasizes honoring the body for where it is in this present moment. Through a mixture of both dynamic and nurturing asana, she encourages a gradual opening of the body and quieting of the mind by honoring and expanding the breath. She does this all with a gentle sense of humor.
Sharon is a native of Sun Valley, Idaho and holds a Bachelors degree in Theatre and English from Willamette University. Outside of the studio, she works as a freelance actor as well as nonprofit professional.
Taylor Azar has been a Massage Practitioner for over 20 years. In your customized bodywork session, Taylor will pull from her extensive training in treatment modalities such as Structural Decompression, Myofascial Release and Visceral Manipulation…but her sessions always include elements of Swedish massage – because it feels too good to leave out!
