Mindful Ceramics with Katy Levit at Bainbridge Yoga House

Join this event for a 6-week ceramics class that is also a conversation about the meditative, healing qualities of art. We will cover basic ceramic hand-building and glazing techniques while we also talk about the ways in which a creative practice is also a mindfulness practice. We will cover topics ranging from coil-building vessels to the link between art and non-attachment; how to have a beginner’s mind and confidence in your own work at the same time; how to explore the story in your head through the work of your hands. Expect to finish the session with several finished ceramic pieces and many new ideas to think about. Beginners embraced – just show up with an open mind and an open heart. Limited to 8 students.
