Join us for the newest addition to the 8 Limbs family of retreats – a winter meditation retreat. In this retreat you will have the opportunity to quiet your minds and open your heart through the practices of insight meditation (mindfulness) and loving kindness meditations (metta). Together we will come to see that freedom is possible through meeting ourselves, our relationships, and our world more fully with deepening wisdom, compassion and acceptance. This retreat will include silent and guided meditations, periods of sitting and walking, qigong, interviews, dharma talks and a chance to build community. Periods of the retreat will be in noble silence, with chances for mindful talking. No experience in meditation is necessary.

Teacher:Brent Morton

About the teacher: Brent Morton has been practicing yoga and meditation seriously for over 10 years, with 7 years teaching experience. His passion is practicing and teaching Insight meditation (mindfulness), which he has trained in extensively, including over a year spent on silent meditation retreats and 10,000+ hours of meditation practice. One of his main intentions for teaching is to bring mindfulness into yoga and yoga into mindfulness; for yoga practitioners to use the technique of mindfulness to deepen their understanding of their minds, and for mindfulness practitioners to use yoga to deepen their understanding of their bodies. Brent has been trained by Jack Kornfield and Joseph Goldstein to teach meditation through a 4 year teacher training at Spirit Rock Meditation Center.

In addition to being a teacher of mindfulness and yoga Brent is also a bodyworker (Craniosacral Therapy) and a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner for healing trauma and nervous system regulation.
