Songs of the Soul – Music of Anandita Basu

Join us for a performance of our special guest Anandita Basu, a world performer of dance and vocal music specializing in the fusion of Sufi, Qwwalis, Bhajans, Ragas and other forms of Indian classical vocals. Anandita’s powerful and exhilarating vocals have won recoginition and delighted audiences around the world.

Currently, Anandita Basu is Professor of Indian Music and Dance at Javeriana University in Bogota, Colombia and Director of the Foundation Kalakendra of India whose goal is to promote Indian music in Colombia.

Sangeet Moksha, a local music group will also be performing with Anandita. This unique group includes artists who studied music in India as well as American artists who have incorporated music from India into their musical repertoire.
