Wednesdays, 6:30-7:45pm (Pacific), October 14- November 4, 2020

Vedic mantras, when chanted correctly, with the right intention and focus, produce specific vibrations in the body and energy field. These vibrations can positively influence our energetic, physiological, and mental states, thereby improving physical, mental, and emotional health. Another significant benefit of the chanting process is adhyayanam. Adhyayanam has the inherent ability to bring the mind to a state of complete attention. The word Adhyayanam means adhi (self) and ayanam (go towards/ move towards), to move towards self, which helps us reach a higher level of consciousness.

This beautiful vibrational series class is for all those who wish to learn and begin practicing the ancient sound science of Vedic Healing Chant in the lineage of Sri T. Krishnamacharya. All participants will receive audio recordings of the chants taught in class to help enhance ongoing personal practice.

No previous experience in singing, chanting, or the practice of Vedic Chant is required.  All levels are welcome.

About the instructor: Nisha Kunder

Nisha KunderI grew up practicing yoga with my mom in India. I really wish I could say that I had a profound experience and that it helped me be a better student. No! My mom, like every good parent, bribed me to practice. What I didn’t know is that she sowed a seed of a mindfulness practice in me that served me for years to come.

When I left my unsatisfactory job as a technical program manager to heal my health issues caused by stress, I turned to yoga. Coming from a culture that believes in curing the root cause instead of merely masking the symptom, I began my healing journey by changing my lifestyle to include more self-care, self-inquiry, and energy healing – in short, yoga.

Amazed by how simple tools had such profound effects I began sharing them with other busy people, coaching them to reconnect with their truth and start living an authentic life. My goal is to support my students in their healing journeys from illness to wellness to stillness. I help by customizing the yoga tools of asana, pranayama, chanting, meditation, and radical self-inquiry to create conscious sustainable change.

Being a lifelong learner, I continue to experiment with new tools to help me balance my life that ranges from motherhood to caring for my aging parents, and everything else in between.
