Our breath is our life force so it is no surprise that how we breathe can affect our physical health and mental well being.

Each monthly workshop in this 3-part series will focus on learning, fine-tuning, and exploring a specific breath technique practice, called pranayama. You will learn three total pranayamas that will support you in your daily life. From assisting you in regulating your energy, to optimizing your respiratory systems, to managing stress in the body & the mind, these techniques can be a whole new way to practice self-care and compassion.

In short, these workshops aim to answer the question: Why does the breath matter?

With the guidance of your instructor, you will be led through:
Gentle physical body movements
Detailed breath practices
Short meditations

We recommend attending this series live. However, a recording will be made available if you are not able to attend at the scheduled time.

Workshop 3 (Sunday, June 6th, 12:00-1:30pm) details:

Let’s officially shed the winter stagnation and jump into spring with this invigorating breath practice. Kapalabhati has specific guidelines for its use and the technique requires an experienced teacher. It is a breath that brings increased oxygenation to the blood, renews muscular tissues, clears out the lungs, enhances circulation and leaves you feeling energized!

No prior pranayama or yoga experience necessary. All levels of practitioners will benefit from these practices.

Tuition: $25 per workshop

*This workshop takes place via Zoom* If you cannot attend live a recording with a 48hr viewing period will be made available to all students
*If you plan to join us in-studio rather than online, please reach out to manager@yogabliss.org and let us know!
*Cancellation policy: No refunds can be offered. If you provide 24 hours notice that you cannot attend, Yogabliss will credit your account the tuition for the workshop.

About the instructor: Rai Lowe

Rai Lowe - Yoga SeattleRae Lowe began practicing yoga while teaching fitness classes and found the balancing effects of yoga immediately. She has studied locally with Jenny Hayo, Anne Phyfe Palmer, Jo Leffingwell, Melina Meza, and nationally with Shiva Rae, Tias Little, Rod Stryker, Shari Friedrichsen, Sarah Powers, and JinSung. Rai has been teaching since 2001 and holds 500-RYT and RPYT certifications. Her 500 hour and Prenatal training were completed through 8 Limbs Yoga Centers and her 200 hour training was completed through Samadhi Yoga in Seattle, Washington. She has worked in several diverse settings – yoga studios, fitness clubs, elementary schools, corporate offices, and universities and colleges.  This has given her the opportunity to teach an array of classes –  Vinyasa, Yin, Gentle, Intro, Family and Kid Yoga, Prenatal/Postnatal, Partner Yoga, and Meditation. She leads the Bellevue College 200-hour RYS Teacher Training Program, teaches Prenatal Yoga for 200-hour Teacher Trainings, and leads Yoga Workshops and Retreats.
Rae encourages all levels of students to truly tune in and listen to their bodies, be curious and enjoy discovering varied options (by modifying or challenging) in their practices each day.  Showing up on our mat with whatever we are facing, allows us to take what we learn during our sadhana (practice) to other aspects of our lives. It is here that we can discover and create the many ways of letting balance unfold in our lives. Rai supports students in this unfolding by weaving in yoga philosophy with a focus on stability and fluidity within the physical body, breath and mind.
