Ayurveda is a 5,000-year-old system of natural healing that has its origins in the Vedic culture of India. It is literally the Science of Life, the Science of Longevity. (Ayer = life. Veda = science, knowledge). Ayurveda emphasizes that health is a balanced and dynamic integration of body, mind, spirit, and environment.

About the instructor: Annie Lindbergย

Annie Lindberg

I am an acupuncturist, herbalist, Ayurvedic and Chinese Medicine practitioner, and yoga teacher.
My goal is to help patients engage their inner resources in order to heal fully. I help patients become pain-free, move freely, feel free.
I incorporate Chinese and Japanese acupuncture, internal and external Chinese and Ayurvedic herbal medicine, cupping therapy, moxibustion, Tuina massage, yoga therapy, and nutritional and lifestyle counseling to address the root cause of symptoms and promote healing.
Before studying Ayurveda, East Asian Medicine, and acupuncture, I was a biologist, ecologist, and teacher. I have worked, researched, lived, and taught in many ecosystems, from the Islands of the Caribbean to the mountains of India, to the Galapagos archipelago, to the Amazon rainforest, to the Rocky Mountains, to the giant kelp forests off Catalina Island, to the great Pacific Northwest. I led groups of teenagers on extended experimental education trips through these ecosystems, often serving as the Wilderness First Responder for the trips, making sure the participants were healthy and healed quickly when injured. Through these experiences, I have become poignantly aware of the intricate interconnection between the health of our environment and ecosystems, the health of our bodies, and the health of our spirits and minds. The more balanced each is, the more balanced all are.
As such, I treat the whole person, recognizing that body, mind, spirit, and environment are inextricably interwoven.
