Are you curious about yoga but feel overwhelmed or nervous about starting? Are you worried about not being flexible or “in shape” enough to start? In this 6-week intro to yoga series, we encourage you to release any pre-conceived notions of yoga and be assured that yoga is for every body, regardless of experience, size, shape or ability.

This series is for those new to yoga, and any student who would like to deepen the foundations of their yoga practice. We’ll provide you with the tools to increase flexibility and strength, release tension, and develop concentration and body awareness. Each week we’ll continue to build knowledge and confidence to prepare you to join regular studio classes.

This 6-week series will cover the fundamentals of a well-rounded yoga practice, including:
Basic physical postures (Asana) and safe body alignment
Breathing techniques (Pranayama)
Basic meditation (Dhyana)
Philosophy (Darshana)

Sep. 10th – Oct. 15th, 2020
From 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm

This series is free for Aya Members and there are two price points to choose from for non-members:
$99 Supporter
$49 Sustainer
A minimum of 4 participants is required to hold this series.

Cancellation policy: Refunds allowed, with a 15% service charge, up until 14 days prior to the first class. After that, no refunds or account credits allowed unless the series is cancelled.

 

About the instructor: Carrie Johnson

Carrie Johnson BioCarrie Johnson is the owner of Aya Yoga Oasis, a certified yoga instructor (E-RYT200 and YACEP), and an adventurous world explorer. Carrie enjoys exploring new cultures and new places, while keeping an open mind to new possibilities.

Carrie is also very passionate about sharing yoga with her students in a way that allows them to cultivate the art of listening to their body. Every class she teaches allows time for each student to experiment and to learn something new about themselves.
