With over 3 million new traumatic brain injuries occurring every year in the United States alone, it is predicted by the World Health Organization that in 2020 TBI will be the third leading cause of death and disability in the WORLD.
There is a huge need for this program in our community and around the world. Your donation and participation make a difference to those living with TBI, their caregivers, and families.
As a TBI survivor herself, this program has a special place in Jennifer’s heart. There has not been access to this program locally, and it is just being brought back to Washington State this month (but still far away in Seattle). Recently certified to teach this program, finding a home for it on the Eastside continues to be Jennifer’s mission at hand.
Your donation supports LoveYourBrain’s annual (currently extended) MindfulMarch fundraising campaign. Your support is greatly appreciated and makes a difference to the thousands that LoveYourBrain serves, providing free programs that foster resilience and build community.
About the instructor: Jennifer Soames
Though Jennifer first started practicing yoga 15 years ago, it wasn’t until the end of 2011 that she just “knew” that getting back into a consistent yoga practice was part of her life’s journey. Her practice transformed from being just about the physical body: allowing stretch and challenge in different ways to offset weight training in the gym. Further exploration of the greater tradition of yoga led to an unquenchable hunger for more and Jennifer began to take lessons off of her mat and into every day life.
As a bodyworker of over 10 years (specifically offering Structural Integration) and a certified yoga instructor, her passion is to help students discover movement and space in their bodies, minds, spirits and lives where they didn’t even know it could exist. Jennifer teaches safe, effective, mindful, meaningful movement; how ever that may look and feel to you. She is currently working to bring a new style of yoga, called RolfYoga, to the Pacific Northwest that brings the principles of Structural Integration into a yoga practice.
